Getting ready to embark on this adventure has been a process in and of itself. Taking all of the business paper to the shredder, and our “extra stuff” to local charities, we were then ready to get pretty much everything we own in 12 moving boxes! Paul decided to spray paint a big “R” on the sides to they would stand out, but as it happens, ours were the only boxes like ours on the flight so you could not really miss them.

Since our boat is being delivered in Thailand, we decided to treat ourselves to Business Class. The flight from Seattle to Taipei was very long, but we were both able to get in some rest and a few movies. By comparison, the flight from Taipei to Bangkok was pretty short (4 hours).

We were a bit nervous to have to go thru customs with 12 boxes, but we actually just breezed right through the green “nothing to declare” line! I think the customs agent just did not want the hassle! Happy for us!
Our Seawind liaison arranged to get us the 1.5 hour from Bangkok to Pattaya, where we will eventually pick-up the boat. We were able to offload the boxes to Seawind’s storage and get comfortably checked in to Dor-Shada Resort by the Sea.
